Half My Heart Beats A nice indiepop night at The Flying Duck
Jockrock Keep up with the Glasgow and Edinburgh "music scene" and slag off that band/club that's more successful than yours on the legendary Jockrock forum.
Winning Sperm Party These chaps set up some good DIY gigs in Glasgow and Edinburgh and generally report on the goings on.
Music Snobbery A great music blog written by a chap in NYC whose music taste is often spookily similar to my own!
The Pop Cop A good unpretentious music blog "on the beat of the Scottish music scene", championing the likes of We Were Promised Jetpacks, Broken Records and Pop Up.
Glasgow Craft Mafia There's more to creative people in Glasgow than just music!
Archived Music Press A superb blog containing scans of the NME/Melody Maker/Sounds from mid 80s to mid 90s - plus intelligent and nostalgic commentary!
I Like! A lovely blog by a Glaswegian lady that's updated very regularly - expect dilapidation, seaside towns, modernism, classic cafes, cartoons, maps, Ladybird books, cups of tea, Tunnock's, old signs and lettering, chips, suburbia, piers - anything beautiful and commonplace.
Bigmouth Strikes Again Freelance journalist Gary Marshall lives just outside Glasgow and presents a very interesting blog on technology, the internet, music, macs and more!
The Ruthless Reviews Guide to 80s Action Movies Some of these reviews made me literally cry with laughter - in particular the reviews of Commando and Top Gun are comic gold.
Rokbun A blog about live music in Glasgow and Edinburgh. It's interesting and as an added bonus also a bit mysterious as it's hard to tell who's actually behind it.
Music, Musings and Miscellany You get the impression that this Glasgow-based music writer and retailer has forgotten more about music than most of us will ever know! The "1000 singles of the century" entries are particularly superb.
Under The Kitchen Sink Glasgow artist Andy creates terrific contemporary art and photography.
Under the Radar Nick Mitchell and Billy Hamilton report from Scotland's music scene and showcase the best new bands.
Aye Tunes Because Scottish music isn't all bagpipes and fiddles.
Glasgow PodcART This site is still in development but I think the overall idea is to review records and gigs, and help artists, musicians, photographers and writers in Glasgow to meet each other.
Save North Kelvin Meadow! There's a patch of ground near Clouston St in the west end of Glasgow that the Council neglects for 20 years. Local residents tidy it up and build orchards and allotments. The Council then suddenly takes an interest and decides it wants to sell the ground..
Pollok Park This site was originally designed to help protets against "Go Ape" building one of their adventure playgrounds in Glasgow's Pollok Park. People Power saved this beautiful park (which houses the world-famous Burell Collection) and the site still exists as a nice tribute to the park and those who saved it.
The Glasgow Collective A large group of diverse visual artists, all of whom have studied at the Glasgow School of Art. Their inaugral exhibition was held at Shoreditch Town Hall, London, on the 10th July 2009. and running till the 17th July. The Collective is committed to bringing new exciting work to a wider audience. (Incidentally, the first exhibition was called "Kill your darlings" which, no offence to whoever thought it up, sounds like a rejected song title retrieved from Alex Kapranos's waste paper basket. The art on this site is terrific so I'm sure they will come up with a more encouraging title next time.)
Never Make Friends Malky B co-runs Your Sound (King Tuts monthly music biz soiree), co-runs The Mill at Oran Mor and manages the loud and splendid Bronto Skylift. His blog is gonzo-esque and good fun.
Scrawls & Bawls Finbarr Bermingham writes about music. It's a good read.
Scots Whay Hae Alistair Braidwood's blog which celebrates, debates and enjoys primarily Scottish art in its widest sense. Alistair is a great writer and "looks at the old and new anew".
Dear Scotland Ostensibly for ex-pats, though I live in Scotland I still enjoy it. It has some good thought-provoking content and interviews about music and life in general in Scotland.
Peenko A Scottish music blogger who knows what's going on!
The Tidal Wave of Indifference The perspective of a music-obsessed, married father in Scotland. This chap, whoever he is, has pretty splendid taste.
